This Privacy Policy describes how Ali Mohammed Salih, on behalf of the
family of Karim Rakan Ismail (“we”, “us”, “our”), collects, uses, and
protects information when you use the mobile application Karim Ismail
(the “App”). The App is a private family tribute dedicated to one individual and is
not a memorial-builder platform.
Purpose: prayer, remembrance, shared reading, gallery, and guestbook for Karim Rakan Ismail
2. Information we collect
We collect only what is needed to operate this tribute.
2.1 Information you provide
Memory book: short text you write, an optional display name, and a timestamp.
Family gallery (family admin only): photos or videos you choose from your library, plus optional captions (place, year, description).
Family admin credentials: a username and password chosen by the family. Passwords are stored as a one-way hash, not in plain text.
About page edits (family admin): biographical text the family may update.
2.2 Information stored on your device
Language and appearance preferences (light/dark mode).
Onboarding and spiritual-path choices.
A randomly generated anonymous participant ID used to coordinate shared Qur’an khatma and Psalms readings. This ID is not shown to other users by name.
Local notification settings for optional prayer and memorial reminders.
A local flag indicating whether family admin mode is unlocked on this device.
2.3 Information collected automatically
Basic app diagnostics that may appear in device or platform logs when errors occur.
Firebase service metadata (such as timestamps) when data is saved or retrieved.
2.4 What we do not collect
We do not require account registration, email, or phone number to use the App.
We do not use advertising SDKs or sell your data.
We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
We do not collect precise GPS location, contacts, or health data.
We do not use Apple’s App Tracking Transparency because we do not engage in cross-app tracking.
3. How we use information
Display memories, gallery items, and shared spiritual reading progress.
Allow the family to manage memorial content.
Send local reminders you opt into on your device.
Maintain the security and basic operation of the App.
Respond to support or deletion requests you send us.
4. User-generated content
The memory book allows visitors to post short messages visible to other users of the App.
Please do not include sensitive personal data about yourself or others. The family may
remove content that is inappropriate or inconsistent with the memorial’s purpose.
To request removal of your entry, email us with the text and approximate date posted.
5. Third-party services
We use Google Firebase (Firestore and Cloud Storage) to store shared memorial data. Google processes data on our behalf according to its own policies:
Firebase servers may be located outside your country. By using the App you understand that data may be processed in those locations with appropriate safeguards.
6. Permissions
Photo Library (family admin): only to upload memorial photos/videos chosen by the family.
Notifications (optional): only to deliver local prayer and memorial reminders you enable.
7. Data retention
Memorial content is kept for as long as the family maintains this tribute. You may request
deletion of your memory-book entry at any time. The family may delete gallery items or
reset admin credentials. If the App is discontinued, we will take reasonable steps to
remove or archive stored data.
8. Security
We use industry-standard practices including hashed passwords for family admin access and
encrypted transport (HTTPS) to Firebase. No method of transmission or storage is 100%
secure; please use the App responsibly and choose a strong family admin password.
9. Children’s privacy
The App is a family memorial and may be used by relatives of all ages under parental
guidance. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 beyond
what they voluntarily type in the memory book. If you believe a child has provided personal
data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
Access information we hold about you.
Request correction or deletion of your memory-book entry.
Object to certain processing or withdraw consent for optional features (e.g. notifications).
Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App or legal requirements change. The
“Effective date” at the top will be revised. Continued use after an update means you
accept the revised policy.
